French Courses

Starting from level A1, our teachers use the French language to communicate with their students in order to ensure a maximum exposure to French. Teachers at the French Institute in Kuwait are all native French speakers specialized in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FFL).

Homogeneous Grouping

The 6-level scale created by the CECRL is available at the French Institute in Kuwait in 12 levels, thus ensuring a better progress of the students. Therefore, we strive to give special attention to student guidance and counselling at registration, and work on maintaining small class sizes (a maximum of 12 students) in order to allow each and every student to participate in the course.

Group Dynamics

Our teachers focus on interacting and exchanging ideas within the classroom and encourage collaborative work in small groups or in class groups, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.

The Various Teaching Methods And Their Adaptation To Students Needs

Our courses are mainly focused on communication activities, and our multiple teaching methods cover the traditional approach of practicing exercises as well as the modern perspective of working on class projects. Our teachers are aware of the students’ areas of interest and work towards meeting their appetite for news, information and French culture.

The Variety Of Media Resources

Our teachers rely on recent books and on a variety of other resources: newspaper articles, audio files, videos or internet.

Evaluation

At the end of each module, students are required to undergo an assessment that will allow them to assess their understanding of the course material. Moreover, we offer “remediation courses” aimed at   students who have difficulty in applying the concepts and practices taught in the course.

A Level Completion Certificate shall be delivered to the student at the end of each session, including the teacher’s remarks and comments.

Additional Resources Available To Students

The media library provides students with additional resources that assist them throughout their learning of the language: novels, documentary books, CDs, DVDs, e-books, magazines, Internet.

The “Learner’s Library” section offers educational and cultural resources for levels A1 to B2.

The bookstore corner also allows students to buy useful resources for their study of the French language.
