Mission
The French Institute is the operator for the French embassy in Kuwait when it comes to cultural cooperation. Its actions range from promotion of the French culture to artistic exchanges between both countries.
The French-Kuwaiti cooperation in the cultural and artistic fields contributes to the cultural reach of France abroad, and to the mutual enrichment of both Kuwait and France. Its scope covers the full range of cultural and artistic disciplines: music, dance, visual arts, drama, heritage, archaeology, architecture and debates; all of which reflects the diversity of French production and know-how.
Its cooperation is based on strong relations forged with local cultural operators, whether institutional or private: National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyah Cultural Center, Bayt Lothan Cultural Center, CAP Gallery, Kuwait Music, and with several organizations such as Loyac.
Since its establishment on January 1st, 2012, the French Institute in Kuwait has grown considerably and made a name for itself as a major partner on the cultural and artistic scene by offering high quality programs on a regular basis. Within a rapidly shifting cultural landscape, the French Institute in Kuwait looks forward to conducting and consolidating projects with other actors of the cultural scene, including institutional or private organizations and associations. These partnerships are an essential for its action and aim at establishing sustainable and long-lasting relationships between both countries.
